We're Going to the Zoo Pictures

Before we had our trip to the zoo, the students were responsible for drawing a picture of the animal they most wished to see there. When drawing, the students were encouraged to add detail, including what color they thought the animal would be, what the habitat would look like, what size the animal would be etc... We took the pictures with us, and while we walked through the zoo were able to compare our predictions with what was actually portrayed. We found we had to make some adjustments as the students had drawn the animals in what they thought would be their natural habitat, while at the zoo, they were in a less natural state.
