St. Alphonsus ECS Easter Party
We had our Easter Part y on the Tuesday following the Easter Holiday. It included egg in spoon races, coloring eggs, food, and an Easter Egg Hunt. As our school is located in a lower-income community, visits from the Easter Bunny and other mysterious creatures tend to happen inconsistently. It is very hard to hear the students come back after a holiday when half have had a visit, and others haven't. We often have a lot of questions about why the Easter Bunny (or Santa or the Tooth Fairy etc...) prefers one child over another. As a result, we pretended that the Easter Bunny had some trouble getting into some of the students houses, and decided to drop his goodies off at school instead. The only problem was, he was feeling tricky, so they had to go for a hunt. The students had a great time searching for eggs, chocolate rabbits, skipping ropes, and jacks and balls sets. More importantly, none of them felt like the Easter Bunny had forgotten them by the end of the day.
